Group size?

We offer small group tours – when we say small group tour, we mean it! With a maximum of 13 people (plus a guide), you get to experience the full benefits of each destination – less crowded hiking trails, shorter wait times and more time spent enjoying what Tasmania has to offer.

We travel in a modern, comfortable air conditioned minibus with a luggage trailer.

Type of tour we offer?

We offer hiking based tours – we aim to do the bigger and most famous hiking trails while visiting Tasmania’s icons. There are often easier walks available depending on your fitness level or if that’s what you prefer. We offer a range of guided and self-guided walks depending on group dynamics. Our tour goes to national parks for nature based sightseeing.

Difficulty of walks on tour?

Walks range in difficulty, there are often (but not always) both hard and easy options. Walks range from 20 minutes to 4 hours and are optional. Track conditions vary considerably, from boardwalks, steps, rocks, mud, sand, gravel or paved paths. Some walks are guided, while others are unguided (free walking). Guides provide you with options on the walks allowing you to choose a walk suitable for your fitness level and interest.

Tour start and finish location?

Our tours are Hobart city to Hobart city – no need to worry about organising your own return transport back to Hobart.

We pick up and drop off  from select Hobart city hotels. A list of pick up locations are available upon booking checkout.

Hobart airport is roughly 20 minutes from the city. You can get to and from the airport via SkyBus, taxis or uber at your own expense.

Pick up and drop off locations?

Our tours include pick up and drop off from selected locations in Hobart’s CBD. We are unable to pick up from an Airbnb or private residence but can usually meet nearby.

What is a Capsule Hotel?

A capsule hotel is a modern type of hotel that provides guests with comfortable, private, enclosed beds. Rooms are secure and include comfortable mattress, pillow and bedding, as well as fans, lights, USB ports and more. We offer this type of accommodation on night 2 of our 4 Day Wild Tasmania Tour.

If you suffer from claustrophobia, bedroom doors can be left open and still provide privacy. We have found that guests have not had an issue as the pods are quite spacious. If you have booked as a multi-share, you will have a single pod (1 x 2m) to yourself. If you wish to upgrade to a double pod (1.6 x 2m), please contact us to arrange additional payment.

What is multi-share accommodation?

We offer both private accommodation and multi-share accommodation. The base rate tour price includes multi-share accommodation. The multi-share option is mixed gender bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. The room will have 2-4 beds. We will allocate rooms based on gender where possible.

Are meals included?

Generally, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are at your own expense. However, some of our tours will include some meals. There are food stops daily at restaurants, cafes, takeaway shops and supermarkets.

We carry an esky on board to store food and drinks.

Should you wish to prepare your own meals, there are cooking facilities available in your accommodation.

What to bring?

We recommend you bring both summer and winter clothing. It can get very cold in the highlands in Tasmania, it is not unusual to get snow at Cradle Mountain even in Summer.  You need to be prepared for cold weather for your visit.

We recommend closed toe walking/hiking shoes, toiletries, towel, hat, sunscreen, waterproof jacket / wet weather gear, swim gear and 2 litre water bottle.  It is good to bring a small day pack in addition to your overnight bag.

Who else is on tour?

We attract travellers who love hiking, nature and the outdoors. We provide for solo travellers, couples, families and groups.

Our 2 Day Cradle Mountain Tour from Hobart targets all ages and most commonly attracts ages 18-65.
